The New Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Should Be on Your Purchase List

Introduction

S-Cross is the very first car of Maruti Suzuki that sold through Nexa. In the redesign S-Cross, Maruti Suzuki has readopted the original design language which characterized by a personalized and elegant, plus the S-Cross has a new 1.3L DDiS 200 Smart Hybrid Diesel Engine used for its heart which is one of the most successful Suzuki engines.

Nevertheless, all S-Cross models are only available in one engine and manual transmission regrettably. Features, such as automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, and cameras are also provided for the new S-Cross. In addition, there are standard-spec of two safety airbags, disc brakes and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) for all versions which will benefit the consumers.

Ride Quality

S-Cross uses the same suspension as previous but some minor adjustments were done to fit with the slightly bigger wheels. Furthermore, driving smoothness is one of the S-Cross's highlights, and the new suspension adjustments allow for a more stable drive. Meanwhile, there is a reasonable shake when the acceleration is more than 100km/h. The heavyweight of the steering requires more strength when making a turn but it's steady for highway cruising. Besides, the gear shift is responsive and the clutch is light.

On-Road Price in New Delhi

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross: ₹ 10.04-13.52 Lakhs

Ford EcoSport: ₹ 9.01-13.66 Lakhs

Hyundai Creta: ₹ 11.40-18.74 Lakhs

Honda WR-V: ₹ 9.04-12.39 Lakhs

In terms of price, S-Cross has no great advantage in comparison with its competitors, and plus there is only a diesel engine and manual transmission options for consumers in which also greatly decreased the competitiveness of S-Cross.

Dimensions

※Overall Length (mm): 4300

※Overall Height (mm) (with Roof Rail): 1595

The interior space of S-Cross with 4.3m length and 1.8m width is spacious according to Suzuki's official size parameters. Indeed, the drivers need to fulfill certain driving skills to drive and park this huge SUV which only equipped with a manual transmission.

Mileage

Maruti Suzuki gives the official mileage data which is 25.1 km/l, and if this can be achieved in reality then S-Cross is definitely good in fuel economy SUV.

Exterior

The front part of the new S-Cross has a chromed larger grille with many vertical lines which shows its generous look, and also an air-damped bumper under the grille. Some other improvements consist of reshaped the LED projector headlamps with DRLs and the new sculpted bonnet; new two-tone machined alloy wheels with wider 215/60 R16 tires (earlier 205/60 R16) at the side parts and adds on the LED in taillights at the rear part of Suzuki.

Interior

The interior design of S-Cross is as well as those of Suzuki's cars which sell at Nexa dealership. It provides leather upholstery for top-spec version and good quality of fabric seats for the low-spec version. The dashboard is eye-catching as well, it has a touchscreen infotainment system that allows connecting to Apple's CarPlay, Google's Android Auto and Mirrorlink. Plus, the automatic climate control is equipped for the top-spec version, while the manual air-conditioning is for the low version.

Colour

Maruti Suzuki offers S-Cross in five official colors, which are the NEXA Blue,Caffeine Brown,Pearl Arctic White,Granite Grey and Premium Silver.

Safety

Unfortunately, we can only found the safety test results of S-Cross from ASEAN NCAP but haven't found the latest now. But according to the older test, the overall performance is awesome for a car at this price.
