Review
In my first glance, Renault Captur seems like not only an SUV but also something else I can’t describe. It has a genuine European crossover design and doesn’t get the strong and rugged look like other SUVs in the Indian auto market. And yet, its good capabilities are as great as Duster because they share the same platform. It has fashionable features like LED exterior and interior lighting and shares the same infotainment screen with Kwid as well. By the way, the Renault Captur’s sibling, Duster, is cheaper. So, as a mixture of Duster and Kwid, the Renault Captur would make us confused.
Driving Performance
Engine and Transmission
Renault Captur officially provides a 1.5-litre H4K petrol engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 1.5-litre K9K dCi diesel version with a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol variant can produce 160ps @ 5600rpm and 142Nm @4000rpm while the diesel one is 110ps @3850 rpm and 240Nm @ 1750rpm.
Steering and Handling
The Renault Captur offers an impressive driving experience under all many road conditions. On highways, it can make you feel its power and is very flexible to handle at high speed. Also, it won’t let you down when you drive slowly on the road. And Captur handles the corners, twists and turns really well.
Mileage
From Renault’s claim, the petrol engine has a fuel efficiency of 13.87 kmpl while the diesel version is 20.37 kmpl.

Design
Unlike the traditional sturdy SUV design that many Indian people like, the Renault Captur has curvy lines and flared wheel arches. But such design doesn't make Captur lose the sense of ruggedness, also feels gentle. The concave-convex profile looks sporty and modern, while the front has a smiley grille with Renault’s diamond logo.
