If you are still looking for a practice family vehicle which gets seven seats and has enough space for the luggage when you are carrying five four passengers, then I think the Triber should be one of your choices on the list. Renault has offered this car for just Rs 5.63 lakh to Rs 7.76 lakh, which is still a competitive price even compared with the Maruti Suzuki Swift. Would its 1-litre three-cylinder petrol engine under the hood give us a satisfying answer? Now we are behind the wheel of the new Renault Triber and let’s expect what it will perform.
Official Claim
In the beginning, we should note that Renault only provides one variant for the Triber, a petrol engine with a manual transmission, which would be a weakness of this MUV. And the authoritative fuel efficiency from ARAI is about 20kmpl, good data for a seven-seat MUV.
Actual Mileage in the City
After our road test in the city, the real fuel consumption of the Renault Triber is estimated at 18.12 to 20.21 kmpl, pretty close to the parameter, but our precondition is one occupant. If you carry four to six people or your car is loaded with some luggage, or trapped in the traffic jam, then the result would be lower, maybe about 15 to 17 kmpl.
Actual Mileage on the Highway
As we expected, because the outcome in the city is very close to the official claim, the number we get normally is better than the city one, our figure is between 20.54 and 22.87 kmpl, which is quite a fantastic mileage! In terms of mileage, Renault Triber has done a great job and better than lots of cars, not only MUV.
