What Is It
Marazzo is a brand-new premium MPV from the Indian domestic carmaker, Mahindra, and is available in seven and eight-seat variants. Mahindra officially provides 4 versions for the Marazzo, they are M2, M4, M6 and M8. It is only revealed with a diesel engine which is combined with a manual transmission. It also has an abundant list for features, including comfort, convenience and safety. What’s more, the safety feature list on the Mahindra Marazzo 2018 offers many standard options such as ABS with EBD, dual front airbags and brake assist for consumers. However, the selling price of the Mahindra Marazzo in India is higher than its rival, Maruti Ertiga, but the base model is lower in comparison with Toyota Innova. Besides, according to Mahindra, the Marazzo is not only the most dynamically able vehicle it has ever made but also premium and comfortable to its driver as well as passengers.
Plenty of people are curious about how this huge MUV with a 1.5-litre diesel engine would perform when it is fully loaded. And we find out that it has completely no stress when it carries seven passengers in the city and on the highway, which is amazing for a car like this. With the 300Nm of torque which can almost pull everything you need in town, the Marazzo is able to carry them easily. It also has enough power on the highway to let you keep running over 100 km/h in the regular traffic. What’s more, the six-speed gearbox feels smooth to handle and driving up slopes is an easy thing to do with the lower ratios. The new D15 diesel engine is also quiet at low speed and idle although it would make some sound when the rev rises. In addition, the power delivery very friendly as well as linear there is almost no jolt when the turbo kicks in.
※Mahindra Marazzo: ₹ 11.38-17.81 Lakhs
※Maruti Suzuki Ertiga: ₹ 8.48-13.56 Lakhs
※Maruti Suzuki XL6: ₹ 10.81-13.35 Lakhs
※Toyota Innova Crysta: ₹ 18.09-28.78 Lakhs
In terms of the selling price, Mahindra Marazzo and Maruti Suzuki XL6 are close and they are standing in the middle of the Maruti Suzuki Etriga and Toyota Innova Crysta. That means Mahindra is just competitive with the XL6 of Maruti Suzuki except for Etriga and Innova Crysta. The differences between Marazzo and its opponents are big and we need to make other comparisons to make our final decision.
※Overall Length: 4585 mm
※Overall Width: 1866 mm

From the official parameter of the Marazzo, we can see that it does is a big vehicle. With its 4585mm in length and 1866 in width, it can provide a spacious room for the driver as well as the passenger. And such size also makes the Marazzo bigger than the Ertiga in almost every dimension, but smaller and shorter than the Innova.
The fuel efficiency announced by Mahindra is 17.3, which is quite an ideal data for a vehicle like this and it is very friendly to the consumer. Although if your car is fully loaded or carries more six passengers, the real number would be lower, the result still seems to be acceptable.
According to the advertisement from Mahindra, the inspiration of the Marazzo comes from the shark so its exterior features a shark-inspired grille. The design team of Mahindra used the inspiration into the front grille, the fog lamps, the antenna and the rear tail lamps. Its front additionally gets daytime running lights with LED units, the shark-teeth front grill gives us a sense of threat while the smoked projector headlamps look like a happy kid. Move to the sides and you will find that the 17-inch alloy wheels are suitable for this MUV. The base model gets 16-inch steel wheels and the mid-spec trim features 16-inch alloys. At the rear, what makes it attractive is those large taillights that are inspired from the shape of the shark’s tail and there is a large chrome strip running across the whole rear hatch.
First of all, it is big as well as spacious and you still have plenty of legroom in the second row. The tall-sitting position lets the driver get a good vision of the road and the combination of black and beige makes the cabin bigger and feels premium. The design of the dash and the instrument cluster is modern as well as tidy. And the second row can be slid, which means if the number of passengers is less than three, the one sitting at the second row can slide the seat back to get more space. The top model offers leatherette seat covers while the base model has fabric upholstery. You can also have some abundant functions such as a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a cooled glovebox with illumination, dual USB port sockets at the front and rear, and automatic climate control.
