Honda Jazz: A Practical Hatchback With Roomy Cabin

Honda Jazz is one of the popular models of Hatchbacks in India. Powerful engine, spacious cabin, superb fuel economy and good quality, those advantages make it become a reliable choice in this segment.

Honda Jazz price starts at ₹ 7.55 Lakhs and goes up to ₹ 9.51 Lakhs. The price of Petrol variant for Jazz ranges between ₹ 7.55 Lakhs - ₹ 9.37 Lakhs and the price of Diesel variant for Jazz ranges between ₹ 8.27 Lakhs - ₹ 9.51 Lakhs.

The Honda jazz mileage for the petrol version is rated at 18.2 for the manual (V & VX) and 19km/l for the CVT (V & VX) trims. The diesel version, comes with the manual gearbox are claimed to return an impressive mileage of 27km/l.

The new Honda Jazz exterior remains the same design language of the last generation, with sporty sleek headlamps, premium LED rear tail lamps as standard provisions across all the variants. At the front, it has a higher blacken grille and lower chrome grille.


In terms of upgrade, it gets a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, supporting with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a rear-view camera. Also, it has rear parking sensors, speed-sensing door lock, central lock switch on door-pad, and front centre armrest. It’s said that Honda has improved its NVH by reducing the annoying noise of diesel engines, the cabin is still quite noisy especially at high speed. 

Dimension and Space

Honda Jazz dimensions 3955 mm in length, 1694 mm in width and 1544 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2530 mm. Honda has an interesting concept called ‘Space Magician’, which means that they often try to make its Hatchbacks have a roomier cabin while the dimension keeps the same. All the seats have perfect headroom and legroom, and the boot, it continues to be spacious and the enclosure is very user-friendly.

Specification and Features

Honda Jazz specifications remain the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC units. In terms of output, the 1.2-litre petrol engine has 89bhp against 110Nm and the 1.5-litre version has 99bhp along with 200Nm torque. Transmission duties are carried out by a 5-speed manual unit and a CVT. And, the CVT option is offered only with the petrol variant.
