Comparison Review: Hyundai Santro vs Datsun GO

General Introduction

Hyundai has launched a brand-new Santro in the Indian market with well-loaded features and great price. Datsun has adapted an upside-down refinement of Datsun GO. Since they are a pair of long-term rivals, we will launch a comparison between them from the parameters of Ride Quality, On-Road Price, Safety, Exterior, Interior, Specifications & Features, Ground Clearance, Mileage, Dimensions, and Colour.

Ride Quality

  • Hyundai Santro

For Hyundai Santro, it is an easy-to-drive hatchback. It is very suitable to drive the Santro in the city with light steering, light control, light clutch and smooth gearbox. However, the Santro doesn’t offer the adjustable, high-set front driver seats, which could be a big problem that would keep bothering you when on a long-term trip. Another problem is the high-speed performance of Santro is unstable.

  • Datsun GO

As for the Datsun GO, it is a city-oriented hatchback. You will get a sport mode and a low mode up to your different driving needs. However, the normal engine equipment and the small amount of available torque make you need to plan the overtaking in advance. But what surprises us is that the Datsun GO can absorb the vibration from the bad road situations. The general ride quality of Datsun GO is pretty good on the premise of not being over loaded.

On road price in New Delhi (some cities prices are lower than this)

  • Hyundai Santro on road price:

Hyundai Santro launches a price range from ₹ 5.13 Lakhs to ₹ 7.05 Lakhs, covering 11 available variants. 7 variants are equipped with the manual gearbox while the rest 4 are equipped with the automatic gearbox.

  • Datsun GO on road price:

Datsun GO launches its price range from ₹ 4.22 Lakhs to ₹ 7 Lakhs, covering 7 available variants, among which 5 of them are equipped with the manual gearbox and the rest 2 are loaded with the automatic transmission.

Besides, the structure of Santro is rated as unstable and the footwell area is also unstable.  It is not quite well-featured for the Hyundai Santro so it is no wonder that the Santro only gets a 2-star rating from the safety test launched by Global NCAP. The octagonal front grille and the vertical LED DRLs also contribute to Datsun GO' s attractive look. As for its side profile, although it would be a little bit compact in length, the 14-inch alloy wheels would help the Datsun GO stand out.

Interior

  • Hyundai Santro interior:

Inside the Hyundai Santro, it is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen on the centre console. There are several manual buttons under the screen for media control. The overall fit and finish of the interior are good. The quality of Santro feels very good for a hatchback in this segment, and with the materials, it even feels like a segment above. The cabin is quite spacious but the legroom is quite compact.

  • Datsun GO interior:

The Datsun GO gets an all-black interior with 4 way manually adjustable seats. The quality of its plastic is quite amazing for its price segment. Besides, the features loaded on board are also very practical:
