With the average ex-showroom price of ₹ 6.98 Lakhs, the Swift VDI certainly captures the heart of most people for it is a popular mid-range friendly hatchback from Maruti Suzuki. But before you make an order, you should have a general understanding of it, so we prepared a brief and useful introduction of theSwift VDi.
For the look
It could not be surprising, after all it' s just a variant of the Swift, neither bad not good, but it' s absolutely enough for the normal beauty-appreciation. After all, typically all Maruti cars don' t have very good look since it is famous for mileage and after sell services. So, there are hardly any changes in the VDi version. The Swift VDi provides 6 different types of colors: Pearl Metallic Midnight Blue, Metallic Magma Grey, Metallic Silky Silver, Solid Fire Red, Pearl Metallic Lucent Orange and Pearl Arctic White.
For the upholstery
Well, the Swift VDi indeed pays quite a lot attention to the interior in order to improve your driving comfort. With a 8-way manually adjustable driver seat adjustment (seat forward / back, backrest tilt forward / back, headrest up / down, seat height up / down) and a front & Rear head-rests, it would not be hard to fit yourself in the driving seat and enjoy the roads although there is only one option of the interior color: black, which seems a little bit boring and simple.
For the Engine & Transmission
Equipped with a 4-cylinders inline engine of 1248cc displacement, the Swift VDi could power out a max power of 74bhp@4000rpm and a max torque of 190 Nm@2000rpm. To be noticed, the fuel type of VDi is diesel and its gearbox is 5-gears manual transmission. The engine is very smooth and responsive for this price segment but for very long distance riding it may be hectic.
For the safety
Needless to say, safety is what we concern a lot. The Swift VDi offers 2 airbags (Drivers & Co-Driver), Child Seat Anchor Points and Seat Belt Warning. It may not be as safe as you thought but could be enough for some slight crashes.
